UMTR Ultra Series: Slippery Slopes on the Superior Trail‏

Lots of participation at Superior! 26 ultra series participants earned finisher woodles (unless I missed someone), or about a quarter of the series. I know too that even more people were up there volunteering. From the reports I’ve heard, the trail conditions on the SHT were absolutely perfect! All finishers will be able to one-up any Tough Mudder stories forever…

On to standings. For the women, Christi Nowak added another notch on her winning belt, and she now leads the open and overall Ultra Series standings. Kathy Jambor holds her lead in the Masters, and Amy Clark has grabbed the lead for the grandmasters.

For the men, Chris Rubesch is holding on in the open and overall divisions. Wayne Nelson has already scooped up a full set of volunteer points to lead the masters, and Peter Schnorbach narrowly leads Rick Bothwell in the Grandmasters as they go back and forth.

This weekend brings a new element to the Ultra Series, as we have a doubleheader! Series races will be happening at the Chester Woods 50K and Kettle Moraine 100K/100M. Good luck to all runners and volunteers at those events!

As always, please check the results and contact us with any errors or omissions. Remember to report your volunteer efforts too!
