The UMTR Ultra Series has been updated through Voyageur, and current standings can be viewed here.
We’ve seen another of the classics go into the records for the year, with the Voyageur living up to it’s history as a hot, steamy race. We had, by far, the highest participation of any of the races in the series so far, with 29 of our Ultra Series entrants finishing the race.
In case you’re a numbers person, that means that of the 289 finishers, 10% were UMTR Ultra Series folks. That’s gotta be a record!
Quick shout to the top finishers, Mark Emmons in 12th, and Kate Leis at 21st.
Next up is another doubleheader weekend, with Lean Horse and Marquette happening the weekend of August 18-19. Good luck if you’re headed to the east or west edge of our area!
Lots of volunteering, make sure that you continue to report those hours so that we can keep tabs on your series points and track them for our year end donation.
As always, forgive me for errors, oversights, and omissions. Email me at enordgre at gmail.com to correct my blunders!

I hope everyone has been getting the miles and hitting their A races this summer! The UMTR Trail Series results are now updated through the Eugene Curnow marathon, and the current standings can be viewed here.
Jim Weise has continued to establish his lead in the men’s overall standings. He is now tapping into the “Legs of Iron Bonus” with a total of 345 points. Erik Raivo remains in second with 190. The women’s side is a little more interesting with Amy Wasson in the lead with 145. Close behind are Stefanie Anderson and Amy Clark with 135 points. Congrats to all!
See you at Superior!
