We are off and running!…literally!
This past weekend saw the first race in this year’s UMTR Trail Series. Zumbro was quite the experience, but then, when isn’t it? This year nature decided to rain and rain and rain which left much of the trail looking more like a river than a trail. That did not stop twenty-three hearty souls from finishing. Seventeen UMTR Trail Series participants finished the 17 mile race and another six “opted up” and finished either the 50 mile or the 100 mile. That total of 23 is over 1/4 of all the Trail Series participants. Mighty impressive! Add to that another three who generously volunteered and that raised the number participating to 26! Kudos to all of you!
I will try to get out a new update between each race. Let me know if there are any errors or omissions and I will correct them in the next update. UMTR Trail Series results can be found on the UMTR Trail Series Page.
Remember that you can earn up to 45 points for volunteering at UMTR races(any UMTR series race). Every point counts! Once you’ve volunteered and the race is completed, alert me through the UMTR website.
Which male and which female will “earn” the $250 purse as the overall 2014 men’s and women’s winners?…16 races to go!
Next up….Chippewa! I don’t think I will be attending Chippewa this year, but I’m thinking it would be a neat idea for us to take a UMTR Trail Series group photo at each race holding the UMTR banner. If someone would like to coordinate the Chippewa photo I can work to coordinate getting you our banner. Contact me offline and we can set it up.
